OSI model

The OSI model is a 7-layer model that standardizes telecommunication infrastructures. Not all layers have to be implemented for a network to function.

From the bottom (closer to device) to top (closer to user), here’s the OSI model:

2. data link layer
3. network layer
4. transport layer
5. session layer
6. presentation layer
7. application layer
